Keith Richards is getting paid Seven Million Dollars to write his autobiography. Random house offered me twice that, but I said I would only do it if Keith would be my ghost writer, and I guess he took this offer in the mean time. We can only imagine the tales of wholesome living, PTA meetings, and political activism in the face of adversity that will dance within those pages.
It’s one of those weeks where things just don’t function normally. At work, one of our trusty Voice Over guys showed up drunk to a session yesterday. I think in school for this stuff, thats what they should do as a test or final project. Who cares if you know how to operate a compressor or describe signal flow, anyone can do that. Give a kid a 60 year old bitter voice talent, with half a bottle of Jack Daniels in him, and you separate the Caballeros from the Perros, if you know what I mean (I’m not even sure what I mean at this point). He had 3 lines to do. 3 short sentences. This took nearly an hour. I feel I am a much stronger person for it. Its like when you have to tell your friend that its not a good idea to go to sleep drunk with their head on the floor and body on the couch, because they’re going to have severe back pain in the morning, and they’re all like “Naah Man, I’m Cool, I got it allllundercontrrrrl” Its the same thing trying to get this guy to say 2007 without slurring it.
When are you supposed to get a haircut? I’ve really been out of the loop on this one. Since college, I stopped cutting my hair more often than every 4-6 months. I think I went almost a year once, it was quite an experience. But now, My hair composition has changed, it has become 154% more curly, and I can’t keep it as long as I used to. It saddens me greatly, but I have accepted it and moved on. But now, just shy of 2 months since my last cut, Its starting to look strange. I ran into the girl who cuts it at a bar right after the bands gig last week, we were both severely intoxicated. I cant remember if she said I need a cut, I’m going to assume yes. I might have given her a hug, I was in that type of mood at the time.
